According to an old legend, after a defeat in one of the battles of the Northern War, retreating Swedes hid a significant treasure in the Siversky District of Leningrad Oblast. These rumors stirred people so much that the search for the treasure continued until the mid-20th century. However, nothing was found. Nevertheless, the true gem of this area is the Belogorka estate.

The development of these lands began in the late 18th century when Paul I distributed estates to his courtiers. The estate was founded by Franz Bel, an official of the Tsarskoye Selo city administration. The estate, located on a hill by the shore, received its historical name from him, Belya 'Gorka.' Over time, thanks to local summer residents, the name transformed into Belogorka in the early 20th century. Significant changes in the estate occurred only in the late 19th century. In 1897, Alexander Yeliseev, a representative of a well-known merchant dynasty, acquired these lands for his daughter. This marked the beginning of large-scale construction. First, they built the estate, a stone palace in the Art Nouveau style, which was constructed according to the preferences of Elizabeth Yeliseeva and resembled an ancient Russian terem with tented roofs, towers, and passages. Later, farm buildings and a small park with flower beds appeared.

Yeliseeva was a woman with business acumen. Next to the estate, she built country residences that Petersburgers eagerly rented for the summer. Today, only two small houses remain from these buildings. Additionally, they raised Dutch breed cows, as well as chickens and turkeys. Agricultural exhibitions were periodically held in Belogorka. The estate could have continued to thrive, but in 1918 it was nationalized and transferred to an agricultural commune. Surprisingly, the chairman became the former watchman of the estate, Mikhail Starkov.

Belogorka suffered the most serious destruction during the Great Patriotic War. During the retreat of the 18th Army of the Wehrmacht, the estate was set on fire. Today, concerned citizens are trying to restore this gem of the Siversky District.
