1st Khvastov Lane has lost a significant part of its pre-revolutionary buildings, so the three-story dark green house stands out against the backdrop of other structures. Above its entrance is a shrine with an icon, hinting at the history of this building.

In the early 20th century, the site was transferred to the Russian Panteleimon Monastery on Mount Athos, which established its dependency here. Most of the premises were used for charitable purposes, providing shelter for elderly veterans of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Here, veterans who fought at Shipka could peacefully spend their old age. In 1912, a three-story building was constructed for them, designed by architect D.D. Zverev, known for his apartment buildings in central Moscow and a church in Maryina Roshcha. The house was faced with smooth dark green tiles, known as 'kabanчик'. Through the archway, one can enter the courtyard, where another building of the dependency is located.

Since many of the elderly residents could not leave the premises, in 1913, in honor of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, a house church was arranged in the name of the icon of the Mother of God 'Quick to Hear'. No separate building was constructed for it: the church was located in the eastern part of the house and could accommodate 350 people. Its location is marked by three end windows on the third floor. Inside, there was a four-tiered iconostasis, and the interior was modest, with copies of revered Athos icons and images of the patron saints of the Romanov dynasty.

After the revolution, the building was nationalized, the shelter was closed, and its residents were relocated. The house church ceased to exist around 1923, and its interiors were lost. The building became an ordinary residential house, then a dormitory, and in the 1990s, it was occupied by offices. In the 2000s, ownership was returned to the Athos Panteleimon Monastery, and a mosaic icon of the Mother of God was restored in the shrine above the entrance.
