The life path of the outstanding Russian ballerina Tamara Vladimirovna Tumanova is a vivid example of the fate of our compatriots in the early 20th century. She was born on March 2, 1919, in a railway carriage, where the family of Kolchak colonel Vladimir Dmitrievich Khasidovich and his wife Evgenia Dmitrievna were located. Tamara's father was a hero of three wars, a holder of the Order of Saint George 4th class, and a talented writer with Polish roots; he received his surname from his adoptive parents. Evgenia Dmitrievna carried the princely surname Tumanishvili before marriage, which became the stage name for their daughter.

Tamara spent her conscious life abroad. Her parents emigrated to China, and the future ballerina's childhood was spent in Shanghai. Inspired by Anna Pavlova's tours, little Toma chose ballet as her destiny. In 1925, the family moved to Paris, where Tamara enrolled in the Russian ballet school under the guidance of Olga Preobrazhenskaya. By the age of nine, she became famous, performing in the best Parisian ballets under the pseudonym Tamarochka Tumanova, and newspapers wrote about her, predicting a brilliant future.

At 13, Tamara became one of the most famous ballerinas in the world, performing with the troupe of Georgian prince George Balanchine, and her popularity grew every year. The idea of creating a baby troupe appealed to audiences, and they happily attended performances worldwide. Adult Tamara continued to win the hearts of audiences in the USA and Europe, where she was adored and admired. She dedicated her entire life to ballet. Tamara was married once, but after ten years of marriage, she divorced and never attempted to start a family again. She lived for 77 years and passed away on May 29, 1996. She is buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, but her memory as one of the most famous ballerinas lives on to this day.
