The St. Seraphim Women's Monastery, known to the people as Varvarina Desert, is located near the village of Tatyankovka in the Maryanovsky district. The road to it begins with a paved road surrounded by small pines, cared for by the novices and nuns. The monastery, shining with the golden domes of the cathedral and chapels above the birch forest, is always open to visitors. It is one of the youngest monasteries in the Omsk region, having received the status of a monastery in 2006. Despite its youth, the monastery and its abbess, Mother Varvara, are loved and respected by many residents of the region. Mother Varvara, the founder of the monastery, left the secular life more than thirty years ago and built a chapel in honor of the holy great martyr Barbara in the Maryan forests.

The feat of Mother Varvara attracted attention, and soon believers began to gather around her, ready to help in the construction of the monastery. Thus began the history of the St. Seraphim Monastery, around which other structures gradually appeared near the first chapel. On the territory of the monastery stands a large church dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov. Mother Varvara continues to serve as the abbess and works on this holy land. It is not possible to come here out of idle curiosity, as the nuns are constantly busy with work. However, one can visit the monastery and join in the work for the common good.

In the refectory, almost half of the central wall is occupied by a large embroidered icon of the Holy Trinity, as well as icons of the Mother of God, Seraphim of Sarov, and Xenia of St. Petersburg. The monastery has 17 chapels, where prayers are offered not only for the main saints and 12 church holidays but also for 17 martyrs who died for their faith. Not every church servant can withstand such a burden, but Mother Varvara and her students manage it through labor and prayer. Therefore, pilgrims from different regions and neighboring countries come here to venerate the hermits and ask for God's grace.
