The giant clock impresses with its accuracy: the bronze-granite structure shows the time with an error of less than ten minutes in clear weather.

This sundial was gifted to Belgorod in honor of the Day of Liberation and was created by sculptor Taras Kostenko. The eleven-meter composition is interesting because during the day the clock counts minutes, while at night glowing stars appear on the dial, forming constellations of the northern hemisphere of the Earth.

The author worked on this original structure for two months, and its opening took place on August 4, 2008, in honor of the 65th anniversary of Belgorod's liberation from fascist troops.
