Falconry Court in Novgorod Kremlin

Фото 1
The exhibition introduces guests to the history of falconry as a traditional activity in Russia. Here, you can see live diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, such as the black kite, hen harrier, steppe eagle, Harris's hawk, saker falcon, common kestrel, Eurasian kestrel, gray and long-tailed owl, barn owl, long-eared owl, raven, and others. Many of these birds have injuries or other issues that prevent them from surviving in the wild. A qualified staff member is ready to answer any questions about these winged hunters.

Depending on the weather, demonstrations of flight by some birds of prey are conducted. During the presentation, guests can observe a simulated hunt on a dummy prey, free flights, and other skills of the trained birds, as well as the intellectual abilities of the black raven. After the program, visitors can purchase themed souvenirs and take a photo to remember their visit to the 'Falconry Court.'
