The parish has two stone churches: the cold Rizopolozhensky, built in 1848, and the warm Voskresensky, constructed in 1790, both funded by parishioners. The churches with a bell tower are surrounded by a stone fence. The cemetery by the Christ the Savior church is enclosed with a mix of stone and wooden fencing. The Rizopolozhensky church has three altars: the central one in honor of the placement of the Holy Virgin's robe in Blachernae, the right one in honor of St. Macarius of Unzha, and the left one in honor of St. Paraskeva the Great Martyr. The Voskresensky church also has three altars: the central one in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, the right one in honor of St. Nicholas of Myra, and the left one in honor of St. Dimitri of Rostov. The distance to Kostroma is 190 versts, to Kologriv, 70 versts. The nearest churches are: the Christ the Savior church in the same settlement, the Assumption church in the village of Neyskoye 3 versts away, the Nikolayevskaya church in the village of Anfimovo in Chukhloma district 8 versts away, and the Efremovskaya church in the village of Shiri 10 versts away.

In 1628, the church "Church of the Most Pure Mother of God of the Placement and the Church of the Resurrection of Christ at the cemetery" is mentioned.

On November 21, 1695, two antimins were issued for the consecration of the churches of the Resurrection of Christ and the chapel of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Galich district of the Parfenyevo suburb.

In 1790, a winter stone church was built on the site of an old chapel, becoming the first stone church of Parfenyevo. Executed in classical style and richly decorated, it was named the Cathedral Church of Parfenyevo, and the name Rizopolozhensky was reestablished for it.

In memory of the ancient church of the Resurrection of Christ, which had by then fallen into disrepair, altars of the Resurrection of Christ and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker were installed in the new stone church. The winter temple of the Rizopolozhensky church was popularly called the Voskresenskaya church. Under this name, the Voskresenskaya church is registered in the documents of the Kostroma diocese. In old church books until 1918, the church is referred to as Rizopolozhenskaya.

The Parfenyevo church of the Resurrection of Christ is unique and possibly the only one in Russia due to its peculiarity. In 2005, specialists from Moscow and Kostroma, examining the church to assess its condition, discovered a rare feature of the central dome, termed "dome within a dome." They suggested that the church was built gradually, increasing in size, and the old dome did not match the new appearance of the church. It was decided to build a new dome without destroying the old one. Unfortunately, the image of the Savior remains inside the domes and is now not visible. Restorers who conducted work in 1999-2000 found that the paintings on the inner walls of the dome, pylons, and ceilings of the church were done by different masters.
