Igumenia Paraskeva faced numerous challenges, and one of the main ones was the construction of a cathedral in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity. Although the Church of St. Paraskeva was rebuilt and expanded, it remained too small for the growing monastery. The sisters were very eager to build a new temple, as the old church was small, and the new monastery buildings obscured it from the eyes of pilgrims. However, there were not enough funds for construction. The monastery council decided to gradually prepare for the construction and received permission from the State Property Administration to gather stone from Mount Obi-kir, located five versts from the monastery. Mother Igumenia resolved to begin the construction of a majestic temple. Bishop Martinian blessed this endeavor, and on July 24, 1894, he held a solemn consecration of the site and the laying of the new temple with the clergy.

The project for the new temple was developed by architect Valentin Augustovich Feldman. It was planned to be built in a purely Russian style of the 17th century, with two floors. The lower floor was to house the church in honor of St. Paraskeva, a burial place, and heating boilers. The upper temple was planned to have three altars: the main altar in honor of the Holy Trinity, the northern altar of Archangel Michael, and the southern altar of the Dormition of the Mother of God. The upper temple was designed to accommodate 700 people, while the lower one was for 200. The estimated cost of the cathedral was one hundred thousand rubles.

This amount was enormous for the monastery, and the monastery did not have such funds. His Grace Martinian sought assistance in construction from the Chief Prosecutor of the Holy Synod K. P. Pobedonostsev, who allocated 3000 rubles from the Medyntsev charitable fund. Count N. F. Heyden donated 9000 rubles in honor of the birth of his daughter Maria. A landowner from the Taurida province, P. V. Popov, added another 5000 rubles. Thanks to these large donations, construction could begin, and experienced builders were invited. According to the contract with the contractor, the construction of the cathedral was to last 10 years and be completed no later than 1905. However, the construction was not completed due to the war, revolution, and the closure of the monastery. In 1929, the cathedral was blown up. Currently, the cathedral in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity is being restored on the old foundation.
