In 1897, a wealthy merchant woman from St. Petersburg, Pelageya Fyodorovna Maximova, moved to the monastery. Thanks to her funding, in 1900, the construction of a magnificent stone church began on the site of the old wooden Intercession church, which was dismantled due to its dilapidation. The project was developed by civil engineer Anatoly Ivanovich Shmakov. The church had four altars, and the main altar was consecrated in 1903. The Intercession Cathedral served as a winter church and was heated by calorifer stoves and water heating. The interior was decorated by Palekh artists under the guidance of Konstantin Alexandrovich Pershin. Next to the church stood a stone bell tower with eight bells.

On September 29, 1904, in the basement of the Intercession Cathedral, where a burial vault was arranged, an altar in honor of all Saints was consecrated. Here, the remains of the founders and benefactors of the monastery, Ioann and Pelageya Maximov, were later buried.

During the period of persecution, the church was completely destroyed.

Since February 1995, the revival of the ruined monastery began. On May 14, 2005, His Grace Bishop Georgy laid the first stone for the foundation of the new Intercession Cathedral after a solemn prayer service. On December 29, 2015, the consecration and installation of the first cross on the Intercession church took place, conducted by Bishop Vykhunskiy and Pavlovskiy Varvara.
