The wing is part of an urban estate from the 17th and 19th centuries, recognized as a federal cultural heritage site. Currently, the northern wing of the estate consists of two adjoining parts: the western (building 1B) and the eastern (building 1A). Building 1A is located at the corner of Sverchkov and Devyatkin lanes.

This ancient Moscow estate has a complex and lengthy history, including numerous reconstructions. It has repeatedly changed hands among notable owners.

In the second half of the 17th century, this part of the eastern White City, located near the roads leading to the royal residences in Izmailovo and Preobrazhenskoye, became an aristocratic district. Courtiers, wealthy nobles, and entrepreneurs settled here and built stone chambers. Several ancient chambers from the 17th century, as well as palaces and estate houses from the 18th century, have been preserved in this area.

It is known that the boyar courtyards of the Matveevs and Miloslavskys were located on Armenian Lane. The chambers that form the core of the main house at property No. 11 on Armenian Lane are believed to have belonged to the Miloslavsky family. Among the subsequent documented owners were M.V. Dmitriev-Mamonov, D.A. Volkonsky, and N.A. Glebov. In 1790, the estate passed to the princes Gagarin, under whom architect Matvey Kazakov reconstructed the old house and created a classical ensemble of the estate with a traditional composition, where the main house is symmetrically flanked by buildings set along the street's red line.

During this period, wings were built around the perimeter of the estate, including the current building 1A. Its composition was almost identical to the Southern wing: a rectangular building with a stove in the center. Interestingly, at the end of the 18th century, the area of the current Sverchkov Lane along the northern boundary of the estate was not passable. It became a city lane again after 1812, and windows were cut into the blank facade wall.

Unlike the western part of the Northern wing (building 1B) and the Southern wing (building 3), the eastern part of the Northern wing (building 1A) underwent significant reconstructions in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building has been raised several times and now presents itself as a four-story house from the side of Devyatkin Lane. The corner part of the facade from the side of Sverchkov Lane is adorned with a triangular pediment.
