The village of Salamatnaya, located on the shore of the lake of the same name, began with a wintering of the same name. It likely appeared by order of the authorities and was on the route to the Novo-Ishim defensive line. The founding date of the wintering is either 1758 or 1765. The founder of the village was peasant Grigory Afanasyevich Kazantsev, but it is unknown where he moved from with his family.

Initially, the village of Salamatnaya was part of the Kurgan sloboda, and with the formation of the Kurgan district in 1782, it became part of the Sychevskaya volost. In the 1840s, residents from the central provinces of Russia moved to the village, forming a separate settlement, which significantly increased the population.

With the opening of the Salamatov volost in 1869, the need for a priest arose. From 1878, metric books began to be kept at the Salamatov church, and in the same year, part of the residents from the Lopatinsky hamlet joined the parish. By 1924, the parish included the village of Salamatovskoye and the villages of Bannikova, Belyanina, Kopay (1st and 2nd Kopay), as well as part of the residents of the villages 1st Dundina and Buldak. It is likely that the parish existed in this composition until its closure by the Chelyabinsk regional executive committee in 1936.

In 1872, parishioners purchased an old wooden church in the village of Chashinskoye to install it in Salamatovskoye. It was planned to preserve the old facade but make changes: to set the walls on a brick foundation, to clad them with planks, to add a new porch with columns and railings, as well as to cut out a door and windows with grilles.

By the beginning of the 20th century, the Salamatov parish had grown so much that the old church could not accommodate all the parishioners and needed replacement. From 1902, it was permitted to raise funds for the construction of a new stone church. In 1915, the rough version of the church in honor of the Holy Trinity was completed. By 1919, it was still not fully finished, and the consecration took place, probably in 1923.

The church ceased to operate in 1930, in 1934 the ringing of bells was prohibited, and in 1936 it was finally closed. By 1947, the building had lost its windows and part of the roof, and church utensils were not preserved. Subsequently, a grain warehouse was located in the church. Despite this, the building of the Holy Trinity church in the village of Salamatovskoye has survived and is a cultural heritage site of the Kurgan region.
