There will come a time when our descendants, recalling the shame and horrors of our days, will forgive Russia much, because in those times not only Cain ruled in darkness, but Abel was among her sons. A day will come when his name will be inscribed in golden letters for eternal memory and glory in the Chronicle of Russian Land, so wrote Ivan Bunin about Kolchak in Paris in 1921.

Exactly one hundred years ago, on the night of February 7, 1920, on the outskirts of Irkutsk, the Bolsheviks executed without trial the leader of the White Guard forces in Siberia, the Supreme Ruler of Russia, Admiral Alexander Vasilyevich Kolchak, and the Prime Minister of his government, Viktor Pepelyaev. The execution was led by Boris Blatblinder (Bursak) and Samuel Chudnovsky. The latter, along with Bronstein (known as Trotsky) and other professional revolutionaries, arrived from New York to revolutionary Petrograd in the spring of 1917. Both were executed in 1937 as "enemies of the people." Memorial services are held:

In St. Petersburg: February 7 at 20:00 at the Holy Trinity Church "Kulich and Pascha." After the memorial service, there will be a laying of flowers at the memorial plaque near the cross at the burial site of the admiral's parents.

In Moscow: February 8 at 14:00 at the Church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin in Krasnoe Selo, at the address: ul. Nizhnyaya Krasnoselskaya, d.12, str.1.
