The art gallery of the Museum of Fine Arts is located in a building that was previously the trading passage of the Yaushev brothers. This building, constructed between 1911 and 1913 in the Art Nouveau style, was commissioned by a wealthy merchant family. The trading passage in Chelyabinsk was considered one of the largest department stores in the Urals, offering goods from leading Russian and foreign manufacturers. The Yaushevs owned a network of stores and enterprises both in Russia and Europe. To this day, the historical plaster decor of that time has been preserved on the facade of the building.
