General Lavrov was the owner of the village of Krivtsovo and after his death in the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878, he was buried in the local church. The monument, which is a bust created by sculptor V.N. Basarev and architect S.I. Fedorov, was installed at the site of his third reburial, which took place on September 7, 1978. The second reburial occurred in 1932 near the looted church. The monument to V.N. Lavrov is not related to the famous Krivtsovo memorial.
