The museum "The Romanov Boyars' Chambers" is a branch of the State Historical Museum. It is the only surviving building from the extensive estate of the boyars, where, according to legend, the first tsar from the Romanov dynasty, Mikhail Fyodorovich, was born.
The building is an architectural and historical monument of the 15th-17th centuries and is considered one of the oldest civil structures in Moscow. In the mid-19th century, by order of Emperor Alexander II, one of the first museums in the capital, "The House of the Romanov Boyars," was opened in the chambers.
