Today, few remember the Moscow merchant Vasily Dmitrievich Nosov, who lived at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. However, his magnificent mansion has survived to this day, allowing Nosov's name to remain in history. This house, located on the modern Elektrozavodskaya Street, is one of the rare examples of wooden modernism in pre-revolutionary Russia. Built in 1903 at Nosov's request, the mansion was designed by architect Kekushev.

At the beginning of the last century, the area of the current Elektrozavodskaya metro station was considered a remote outskirts of Moscow. It was here that Vasily Dmitrievich decided to build his mansion, which stylistically resembles a Western European country villa. The house has a solid stone foundation, while the two residential floors are made of wood. It is surrounded by spacious terraces where the owner enjoyed spending time with family and guests. The mansion is adorned with numerous elements of wooden architecture and leaves a pleasant impression.

After the establishment of Soviet power, the building was confiscated, and in 1918 its owners were evicted. In the following years, various state institutions were housed in the building, including a dormitory, but the building miraculously survived, preserving many interior elements. In 1991, the house was freed and restoration began, which lasted almost 19 years with some interruptions. Now the mansion has been restored and houses a historical and cultural center.
