The village of Pirovy-Gorodishchi is located on the way to the site where the walls of the glorious city of Yaroslavl once stood, which bravely repelled the attacks of the Tatar-Mongol yoke. It is now hard to say why the inhabitants of this city, having survived the devastating invasion, did not return to their lands. Time has concealed the reasons for the emergence of a new settlement upstream of the Klyazma River, the city of Vyazniki, while the former fortified settlement with high ramparts remained deserted and received the name "Pirovy Gorodishchi."

It is known that until 1764, the village of Pirovy Gorodishchi belonged to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery. At that time, there were two wooden churches in the village. In 1806, a stone church, the Sergius Church, was built in their place, which has survived to this day. Among the attractions is a small chapel, the origin of which is unknown. It is located northwest of the church at a distance of 50-60 meters and, judging by the architecture, was built in the second half of the 19th century.
