Before the revolution, a stone chapel with an iron roof stood on the northern slope. It was built over a spring, which, according to legend, was dug by St. Sergius of Radonezh himself in the mid-14th century. In the center of the chapel was a well. In the early 1930s, when the church of St. Sergius was destroyed, not only the ancient church suffered. A powerful explosion destroyed the clergy's house, a significant part of the monastery wall, and the chapel over the spring. After 70 years, it became almost impossible to determine the location of St. Sergius's spring, as the slope of the Kirzhach River was dotted with numerous springs, and no one knew which one belonged to Sergius. The nuns prayed diligently for its discovery. Miraculously, a photograph of the chapel taken in the 1930s reached the monastery. The sisters compared it with the modern view of the slope, determined the approximate location, and began excavations. They immediately found remnants of the floor and wall, as well as the foundation of the oak well. Under one of the foundation stones, they discovered a coin from 1613, left by the builders of the chapel in the 17th century.

This happened in 2001. The next step was to restore the destroyed structure. First, they reinforced the chapel's foundation and waited two years to ensure its reliability. One day, the residents and builders gathered for prayer, asking for God's blessing and St. Sergius's guidance to continue the work. At that moment, news arrived that an icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh had been written as a gift to the Annunciation Monastery in Sergiev Posad by an unknown iconographer. That very evening, the icon was ceremoniously welcomed in the monastery. It now adorns the interior of the chapel. The foundation proved to be strong, construction continued, and was completed in 2005. In the same year, the chapel was consecrated by Archbishop Evlogy of Vladimir and Suzdal.
