At the beginning of the 20th century, two private wooden houses belonging to M. Finogenova and P. Borozdina were located on the site of the current school. After Borozdina's death and the absence of heirs, the plot passed into the ownership of the city. In 1903, the city council decided to build a primary school on this site and purchased the plot from Finogenova.

The construction of the school was financed by the factory owner F. A. Kopeykin-Serebryakov, who bequeathed 200,000 rubles for the construction of male and female schools. The Kopeykin-Serebryakov family owned several factories and a rental house in Moscow.

The building's design was developed by architect N. N. Blagoveshchensky, known for his works in the neo-Russian style. He built many churches and educational institutions, adhering to eclecticism with elements of modernism. By the time of the school's design in Presnya in 1904, Blagoveshchensky already had experience creating buildings in his characteristic style.

Initially, the facade of the building was made of red brick with white stone or stucco elements. After the facade was painted, this effect was lost. The facade decor included arched windows, complex cornices, and elements reminiscent of 17th-century and early Renaissance architecture.

The building is asymmetrical, with a curved part of the cornice uniting a round niche and arched windows on the upper floor. The metal fence has been preserved, but the high attic above the cornice has been lost. The attic had an inscription with the date of construction.

Inside, the building has a long corridor with classrooms on the sides. In the center of the building is a hall for meetings and classes, which is now divided into offices. The main staircase has retained its original metal railings.

The school accepted children from all social classes and religions, where they taught the Russian language, arithmetic, religious law, and church singing.

During the first Russian Revolution of 1905, the building became a center of events in Presnya, housing a dining room for militia members and a recruitment point for sanitary squads.

After the revolution, it became a secondary school, and in the late 1990s, the building was occupied by the research center "Planet," which deals with space monitoring systems.
