In April 2003, the head of the Eremeevsky rural council of the municipal formation 'Troitsko-Pechorsky' issued a decree to establish the folk local history museum 'Native Priurals'.

Since January 2004, the museum 'Native Priurals' has been a branch of the 'Troitsko-Pechorsky District Historical and Local History Museum named after A.N. Popov'. It is located in the building of the former office of the Priuralsky forestry station. Today, the museum is the main repository of the material and spiritual culture of the Preurals in the basin of the Ilych River, where scientific research and educational work is carried out. Despite its youth, the museum has about 1500 exhibits and has attracted more than 5000 visitors over the years.

The museum's exhibitions are dedicated to the history of the region and include sections: 'The Basin of the Ilych River', telling about the fate of Komi villages on the Ilych, 'Priuralsky, the settlement and forestry station', 'They Defended the Motherland', 'I.D. Bazhukov, full cavalier of the Orders of Glory', 'Workers of the rear of the Eremeevsky rural council'. The flora and fauna of the Ilych region are also presented. The ethnographic department includes authentic household items, tools, means of transportation, national Komi clothing, as well as Komi calendars: fishing and sowing.

The collection of materials on the history of vanished villages, hamlets, Old Believer hermitages, forest plots, and special settlements is carried out during local history and ethnographic expeditions. In 2006, the museum won the republican grant competition 'Ethno-Initiative' with the project 'Spiritual Culture of the Komi People of the Preurals' (the basin of the Ilych River). The Upper Pechora still remains a little-studied area in ethnological terms, despite the great interest in traditions. The fact that employees of local cultural institutions are seriously engaged in this issue deserves comprehensive support and approval, as noted by A.V. Panyukov, senior researcher of the folklore department of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor.
