The museum dedicated to singer Nadezhda Vasilyevna Plevitskaya was opened at the initiative of the governor of the Kursk region, A.N. Mikhailov, and became part of the Kursk Regional Local History Museum.

The museum's exhibition covers key moments in the life and work of this outstanding performer of Russian folk songs and urban romances. It showcases Plevitskaya's journey from a village hut to a monastery cell, then to a wandering tent and a restaurant "lapotnik choir," and further, her transformation from an obscure singer to a star of the stage, as well as her tragic death in a French penal prison. The exhibits tell of her extensive concert activities in Russia, Europe, and America, as well as her work in cinema. Special attention is given to her creative roots and connection to the Kursk land, which she loved and longed for while in exile. Visitors can hear songs performed by Plevitskaya.

The museum also conducts interactive activities for schoolchildren. The autumn "Potato Festival," dedicated to the harvest, and "Winter Gatherings," where songs are sung, musical instruments are played, tea with pancakes is served, and horse riding takes place, are particularly popular.
