The museum has unique characteristics and attracts visitors of all ages. This is achieved thanks to the open nature of the exhibitions, the possibility of conducting tours in foreign languages, and an individual approach to each guest. Over the years, about 100,000 people have visited the museum.

In 2017, the Ilizarov Center Museum received a certificate from the Register of Medical Museums of Russia, created at the initiative of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. The register includes 182 medical museums, and only 36 of them are located in healthcare institutions. Throughout its operation, the museum has been repeatedly updated and modernized.

On an area of 400 square meters, five new halls have been opened, equipped with modern multimedia and interactive compositions. Visiting the museum becomes an event that allows not only to familiarize oneself with the world heritage of traumatology and orthopedics but also to feel what doctors experience during surgeries, as well as to study the structure of the human body. The museum has an interactive basis, allowing visitors to directly participate in the medical process. The new exhibitions are aimed at actively engaging guests in the tour process. In the improvised laboratory and operating room, visitors can independently set up equipment on bone models and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a real operating room.

The museum offers overview tours, walking tours of the Ilizarov Center memorial park, lectures, discussions, and meetings with interesting people.
