The Unbreakable Wall is a special epithet usually assigned to images of the Mother of God Oranta. It is borrowed from the Akathist to the Mother of God, where it says: "Rejoice, unbreakable wall of the kingdom" (Ikos XII). This image is considered miraculous, and in the Orthodox Church, its celebration takes place on May 31 according to the Julian calendar. In 2001, a women's monastery was founded in Apsheronsk in honor of this icon.

By the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch and the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on March 12, 2002, a decision was made to create a new women's monastery in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God 'Unbreakable Wall' in the Yekaterinodar and Kuban Diocese.

The consecration of the site for the monastery in Apsheronsk took place a little earlier, on December 9, 2001, conducted by Metropolitan Isidor of Yekaterinodar and Kuban.

The project for the monastery complex, which includes wall structures with the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah, a bell tower, observation towers, the main three-altar church of the Mother of God 'Unbreakable Wall', and a children's shelter with the home church of Martha and Mary, was developed by the honored architect of Russia Yu. S. Subbotin.

Currently, five nuns, three novices, four postulants, and several workers reside in the monastery.
