On November 7, 1957, the first small exhibition dedicated to Alexander Stepanovich Popov, a native of Krasnoturinsk and Turinskie Rudniki, was opened in the renovated house of the Popov-Slovtsov family.

In 1980, the house was moved 4.5 meters inward into the block.

In 1984, on the 125th anniversary of A. S. Popov's birth, a full exhibition of the memorial house-museum was opened.

With the help of A. S. Popov's daughter and granddaughter, Ekaterina Alexandrovna Popova-K'yandskaya and Ekaterina Georgievna K'yandskaya Popova, the museum staff collected an interesting memorial fund, including documents, photographs, books, furniture, and dishes. This allowed for the creation of two memorial rooms, a living room and a dining room, as well as an exhibition about the life and work of the scientist.

The exhibition tells about A. S. Popov's life in Turinskie Rudniki, his studies at the Dolmatov and Yekaterinburg spiritual seminaries, the Perm spiritual seminary, and St. Petersburg University.

It highlights his work in Kronstadt at the Mine Officer Class, at the Technical School, Popov's development as a scientist, family life, work at the Nizhny Novgorod All-Russian Fair, a trip to Chicago, and other stages of his life.

In the "study," visitors can learn about A. S. Popov's discoveries, the testing and practical application of his invention. Authentic devices from the inventor of radio and copies of the first receivers of wireless telegraphy made by local radio enthusiasts are displayed here.

The exhibition covers the years 1901 and 1905, his work in St. Petersburg as a professor and the first elected director of the St. Petersburg Electrotechnical Institute, as well as the last documents and photographs of A. S. Popov and his family.

A memorial hall is also included, showcasing gifts from city guests and the museum for the anniversaries of the great scientist and the A. S. Popov memorial museum.

The memorial museum operates a collective radio station with the call sign R9DMP. Radio enthusiasts from the A. S. Popov city radio club regularly broadcast from the museum and participate in various competitions.

On March 13, 2014, on the 155th anniversary of A. S. Popov's birth, an updated exhibition of the memorial house-museum was opened, presented in the section "Virtual Exhibition of the A. S. Popov House-Museum."
