The Red Barracks, now known as City Psychiatric Hospital No. 3, are located in Novosibirsk at 2 Vladimirovskaya Street. After the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905, the military department of the Russian Empire conceived the idea of creating "military towns" along the Trans-Siberian Railway to accommodate garrisons. In Novonikolaevsk, near the station and behind the railway tracks, a military stopping point was built, which was named "Red Barracks" due to the red brick buildings.

At different times, the Yenisei and Irkutsk regiments, a Cossack hundred, and a convoy team were stationed here. During the Civil War in 1918-1919, the Czechoslovak Corps was located here. From 1919, the buildings were used as barracks for infectious patients. In 1941, a partially evacuated factory from Leningrad, known as the Lenin Factory or post office No. 105, was located on the premises. From 1945 to 1952, a military unit of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was stationed in the "Red Barracks."

Today, the buildings of the military stopping point are used by medical and administrative institutions. In 2009, unconfirmed information emerged about the possible closure of the psychiatric clinic in these historic buildings, but its future remains unknown.

Most of the buildings are two stories high, with very high ceilings visually reaching about 5 meters, and narrow rooms. The layout of the premises is corridor-style. In some buildings, according to hospital staff, the original wooden sewage system has been preserved.
