In 2006, the municipal cultural institution "Ust-Kubinsky District Local History Museum" was established based on the district historical and ethnographic museum. The foundation of its exhibition consists of 289 exhibits collected in 1986 by an expedition led by A. A. Rybakov in the territory of the Ust-Kubinsky district. Currently, the museum's collections number about 4,000 exhibits.

Since 2011, the museum has been located in the building of the former warm church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, built in 1848. In 2012, the creation of a new exhibition for the district museum was completed. Visitors can explore one exhibition hall and two display rooms. The main exhibition is dedicated to the history of the region, spiritual and cultural heritage, and the development of crafts, trades, and industries. The museum widely showcases the artistic crafts of Ustyanshchina, such as lace-making, horn work, and pottery. New exhibitions, such as "The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the Lives of Local Residents," "The History of the Spaso-Kamen Monastery," "The History of Shipbuilding," and others, are particularly popular.

Visitors to the museum are offered guided tours, museum lessons, lectures, conferences, themed events, meeting evenings, and celebrations.

The museum also has a branch called "Nikolski Park," which is a natural monument "Old Park" in the village of Nikolskoye, Ust-Kubinsky municipal district. The park covers an area of 12 hectares. Activities are held on its territory to preserve and restore plantings, landscape planning, scientific research, as well as events to promote the history and nature of the ancient park.
