The museum was founded in 1967 as a room dedicated to military and labor glory. Initially, it was located in a small hut at the intersection of Krasnaya and Karl Marx streets. In 1971, a new House of Culture of the Lenin Collective Farm opened, where the museum was allocated a separate room. In 1997, the museum moved to a building at 144 Lenin Street, where it remains to this day.

The museum's collections include ethnographic items, numismatics, documents, photographs, applied arts, and technology. The permanent exhibition is dedicated to the settlement of the region, the life of the Cossacks, and the history of the area in the 20th century. In the Kuban household hall, you can see the diorama "Settlement of the Korenevsky Cossack Village," items of Cossack life, as well as a reconstruction of the "great" hut of a Cossack house with a Russian stove, dishes, kitchen utensils, and a large bed adorned with a lace bed skirt and patchwork quilt. Handicraft items are also presented.

The Hall of Military Glory offers interesting facts about the events of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War, as well as stories about fellow countrymen who fulfilled their international military duty in Afghanistan.
