In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, during the peak of the monastery's prosperity and fame, its territory was triangular, bordered to the north by a brick wall. The main compositional axis, clearly oriented from north to south, began at the Divnogorye railway station. Key elements of the complex were located along this axis: the gate bell tower, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the cave church of John the Baptist. This axis also united the three main zones of the monastery: the western, central, and eastern. The western zone, located at the main entrance, was bordered by service buildings, an elongated two-story hotel building, and a small monastery garden, which offered a view of the surrounding landscape. The central zone, representing the monastery courtyard, had a rectangular shape and was bordered to the northwest by an L-shaped building of cells. To the west of the Holy Assumption Divnogorsk Men's Monastery rises a 32-meter two-tiered bell tower with a tall spire, built in 1780.
