The Kochkovsky Historical and Local Lore Museum was established in November 1977. Its founder was Dmitry Emelyanovich Pikalov, who actively traveled around the Kochkovsky district and collected materials for the museum. On May 18, 1984, the museum was awarded the title of "People's Museum."

The museum is located in a one-story building and includes two exhibition halls. The large hall is dedicated to the history of the Kochkovsky district and contains exhibitions such as "History of the Village and District," "Nature of the Native Land," "The District in the Distant Past," "We Speak Again of War," "Medal on the Chest of a Veteran," "Heroes Always in Formation," "Wonderful School Years," and others.

The small hall tells about the peasant life and everyday life of the Kochkovites in tsarist times. There is also a small exhibition dedicated to the merchant family of Rusinov from the village of Kochki.

Today, the museum houses 7,353 exhibits in its main collection and 6,887 exhibits in its scientific auxiliary collection. Among the interesting exhibits are a 17th-century chainmail, a 6th-century BC akynak, a 17th-century coffee maker, a music box "Stella" from 1886 with metal plates, a seal of the village elder, and others.
