The historical and local lore museum was founded in 2001, and its grand opening took place on March 20, 2003. The first collections were gathered by Vasily Ivanovich Pavlov. This is the only place in the area where one can learn about the history, traditions, and customs of the Klyavlinsky district.

The main task of the museum is to collect, preserve, and study the material and spiritual culture of the peoples of the Klyavlinsky district. The museum's collection includes over 2000 exhibits, which are presented in three permanently functioning halls.

In the exhibition hall "Russian Hut," authentic exhibits from the late 19th and early 20th centuries recreate a peasant's dwelling. This hall is particularly interesting to visitors, as it houses ancient items of Russian culture: handwoven tablecloths, napkins, rugs, shawls, scarves, traditional Russian costumes, footwear, and household items.

The "Room of Military Glory" preserves the memory of fellow countrymen who participated in the Great Patriotic War, as well as in conflicts in Afghanistan and Chechnya. Here, a stand is arranged with photographs and biographies of Heroes of the Soviet Union, natives of Klyavlinsky land. The exhibition includes photographs, archival documents, and materials from periodicals. Among the exhibits are yellowed triangular letters from field mail and items of soldiers' everyday life.

The historical and ethnographic exhibition "Peoples of the Klyavlinsky District" tells about the traditions, rituals, and costumes of the peoples living in the area. Here live the Moksha, Chuvash, baptized Tatars, Russians, and others. Traditional crafts such as carpet weaving, pottery, and blacksmithing are also represented.

The exhibition "The Mysterious World of Carpets" is dedicated to the masters of carpet-making and weavers who created carpet products in the district. The number of museum visitors is growing every year, including schoolchildren, kindergarten children, retirees, and guests of the district. Museum staff conduct video screenings, master classes, contests, and games, as well as create projects.

The museum actively collaborates with organizations and institutions in the district, as well as with museums in the region and the Samara Regional Historical and Local Lore Museum named after P. V. Alabin.
