Guardian angel of the "Black Baron".

By the time he met the charming daughter of the chamberlain of the Highest Court, Olga Mikhailovna Ivanenko, 30-year-old Pyotr Wrangel was a convinced bachelor dedicated to his service in the army. However, this acquaintance changed his fate, and his new beloved saved his life twice. After marrying Olga, the baron found it difficult to give up his usual entertainments in the guard environment. His wife found a way to his heart, surrounding him with care and affection, becoming not only a faithful wife but also a reliable friend and guardian angel.

After the October Revolution, Pyotr Wrangel found himself in prison, facing execution. Olga Mikhailovna, like the wife of a Decembrist, followed him and was also arrested. According to legend, when she was asked why she ended up in prison, she replied that she wanted to share her husband's fate. This became a rare case: they investigated Wrangel's case and, finding no crimes against the new authority, both were released.

On another occasion, Olga saved him in exile. Wrangel fell ill with typhus and could not recover for a long time. She was constantly by his side, providing the necessary assistance, and the commander recovered. Later, when there was a threat of liquidation of white figures, Olga tried to limit her husband's meetings with suspicious people and personally checked the food. However, she could not foresee betrayal in her own home.

According to one version, Wrangel's orderly asked to shelter his "brother" for the night, who turned out to be a Soviet sailor. Intentionally or not, but later the baron fell ill. In delirium, he recalled the evacuation from Crimea. On April 25, 1928, the commander passed away, his last words were: "I hear the ringing of bells. God, save the army." After his death, Olga never remarried, engaged in charity work, and passed away in 1968. She was buried at the Orthodox cemetery of Novo-Diveevo in New York.
