From 1990 to 1992, church parishes began to open in the Astrakhan region, and the parish of the Church of Christ the Savior was registered. At that time, the church was located in an old red brick building that was completely unsuitable for these purposes. The inscription "1912" was laid out on the fronton of the building. The church was located there until 2002, and now a Sunday school operates in this building.
From 1995 to 1997, funding began for the construction of a new church. The first stone was laid in November 1996, and the construction was completed in 2002. His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of All Russia gifted the Krasnoyarsk church a cross with a dedicatory inscription, which is now kept in the altar of the church. The consecration of the church on October 28, 2002, was conducted by Archbishop Jonah of Astrakhan and Yenotayevsk.
