In the late 17th and early 18th centuries, a five-domed stone church was built in the revived city on the banks of the Ucha River in honor of the Life-Giving Trinity. This was the first of three churches of the modern Trinity Parish. In 1739, a second church dedicated to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was added, along with a bell tower.

Later, a two-tiered temple was constructed in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, featuring an altar dedicated to the prophet Elijah and a heated chapel in honor of the Venerable Zosima and Savvatiy of Solovki, the Miracle Workers. The heated chapel housed a library room containing over 1000 volumes of religious and moral literature.

On the site of the former fortress, a stone bell tower and two cathedral churches were erected: one stone church dedicated to the Conception of Saint Anna, and another wooden church in honor of Saint Nicholas the Miracle Worker. Although the exact dates of their construction are unknown, they are marked on the pre-regular plan of the city of Lyubim from 1767.

Later, likely due to their dilapidation, these churches were dismantled or rebuilt. In 1798, a stone Epiphany Cathedral was built in their place, and in 1825, a stone single-domed Exaltation of the Holy Cross Cathedral was constructed nearby. Both cathedrals have survived to this day.
