The church, founded in 1872, was built with the funds of the parishioners. It has three altars: the central one is consecrated in honor of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos, the southern one in honor of the Beheading of John the Baptist, and the northern one in honor of Saint George the Victorious.

From 1934 to 1937, part of the church was used as a warehouse and grain storage, but services continued in one of the chapels. After the war, the church was cleared of grain, and services resumed in full. A Sunday school also operates at the church, but only during the summer months.
