The parish of the village of Ryabchi was located in a low-lying area with many ravines and swamps, on the Belizna River, which flowed through the village. It was 225 versts from Oryol and 85 versts from Bryansk. The soil in this area was clayey and unproductive. The parish included the village of Ryabchi and five other villages: Budy, Peklino, Tyutcheva Sloboda, Novoselye, and Setinka. The parishioners were peasants engaged in agriculture, but due to the poor soil, they had to seek other sources of income. There were a total of 2005 men and 2347 women in the parish.

Until 1822, the village of Ryabchi belonged to the parish of the village of Golubeya, located 12 versts away. This distance created difficulties for communication between the priest and the parishioners. Landowner Yevgraf Alekseevich Demidov decided to build a church in Ryabchi to create a separate parish. In 1819, he appealed to the diocesan authorities, and three years later, the construction of the church was completed. On November 19, 1822, the church was consecrated by Archimandrite Avrosiy from the Bryansk Svyensky Monastery with the blessing of Bishop Gavriil. The church was dedicated to the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In 1827, Anna Alekseevna, Demidov's wife, allocated funds for the construction of a warm chapel to the Presentation Church. The chapel in honor of Saint Sergius of Radonezh was built of stone and consecrated on September 2, 1829, by Bishop Nikodim. The bell tower of the church was also made of stone.

A significant event in the history of the village was the visit of Alexander I to Ryabchi on July 7 and 8, 1823, when he attended the liturgy at the Presentation Church. There were two schools in the parish: a zemstvo school and a church-parish school. The church land amounted to 138 desyatins. The clergy consisted of a priest, a deacon, and a psalmist.

The church was destroyed during the Great Patriotic War, and a wooden cross has now been erected at its site.
