Church of the Righteous Joachim and Anna in Dolgoye

In August 1756, at the request of monks and residents of the villages of Dolgoye, Budanovka, Tazovo, and others, a decree was issued for the construction of a parish church in the village of Dolgoye, dedicated to the righteous Godparents Joachim and Anna. The church was consecrated on June 24, 1770. It was a wooden temple in the shape of a rectangle, built from different types of wood and painted red, which is why it was called the "Red Church."

Years later, it was decided to replace the wooden church with a stone one. Funds for the construction were quickly raised. The new church was built in 1852 according to one of the standard designs of the famous architect K. Ton, characteristic of the mid-19th century. The construction took place in two stages: first, a church with five domes was built, and then a refectory with a three-tiered bell tower was added. A stone school was also built next to the church.

In the 1930s, the church was closed, and it was only returned to the faithful in 1988. After several decades of neglect, the church fell into disrepair, but through the efforts of parishioners, it was revived. Tons of garbage and dirt were removed, the roof, floors, wall paintings, iconostasis, and all the furnishings of the church were restored. Ancient icons and church utensils were returned. Now, the church of the righteous Godparents Joachim and Anna is fully restored and renovated, and a chapel of All Saints has been arranged in the basement.

Daily services are held in the church, and on Sundays and holidays, Divine Liturgies and molebens to the saints take place.

Not far from the church, on the Tuskary River, Father Peter Yurichko built a baptismal font for people of all ages with full immersion. An Orthodox library has opened at the church. Construction of a new building is underway, which will house a Sunday school, a baptismal font for children and adults, a library with a reading room, an archive, and a museum of the church.
