The church of St. Paraskeva Friday was built in 1777 with funds from the landowner Yevdokim Shidlovsky. The building was constructed from oak beams and consecrated on the feast day of St. Paraskeva Friday. In honor of this event, the village of Ivanovka was renamed Pyatnitskoye. The church functioned until 1937.

After its closure, the building was used as a collective farm warehouse, then a club was opened there, and later it served as a mill and a dormitory. In the 1970s and 80s, a machine yard was established on the church grounds. By the early 1990s, the building and the surrounding area had become abandoned. In 1994, the residents of Pyatnitskoye began to petition for the return of the building to the Church. On November 22, 1994, the building of the former church was transferred to the parish community. In 1995, the former collective farm guardhouse was adapted for worship services. By the blessing of Bishop Juvenaly, on the feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem, the consecration of the building was performed by the dean of the Valuy district, Archpriest Andrey Payul. The first service took place on Easter 1995.

In August 1995, the Belgorod Diocese was established, and the Pyatnitskoye parish came under the leadership of Bishop Ioann.

In 1997, the Zemstvo assembly of the village decided to create a board of trustees for the construction of a new church in Pyatnitskoye, as the old wooden building was beyond restoration. On November 27, Archbishop Ioann of Belgorod and Starooskol arrived with clergy to lay the foundation stone for the future church. A consecrated stone weighing 50 kg was embedded in the foundation, and a cross was placed at the site of the future altar. The church was laid on the site of the former church of St. Paraskeva Friday. The construction of the new church was challenging and lasted more than 12 years. On January 30, 2005, the church was consecrated by Bishop Ioann of Belgorod and Starooskol, after which regular services began. In the spring of 2009, the roof was dismantled and a central dome was installed.
