According to the clerical records for 1913, the rector of the Trinity Church in the village of Vizinga, Priest Stefan Kuratov, was born on March 30, 1867, in the village of Mezhador to the family of priest Afanasy Alexeyevich Kuratov. In 1891, he graduated from the Vologda Theological Seminary and was ordained as a priest of the Assumption Church in the village of Pomozdino. From 1891 to 1899, he taught the Law of God at the zemstvo school in Pomozdino and managed the Rodzina literacy school. In 1897, for his diligent pastoral service, he was awarded a pectoral cross by Bishop Alexy of Vologda and Totma. For participating in the census, he received a bronze medal. On July 2, 1899, he was transferred to the Trinity Church in the village of Vizinga.

Father Stefan Kuratov was arrested on August 5, 1937. The document justifying the arrest stated: "Kuratov S.A. organizes meetings in his apartment under the guise of religious gatherings and conducts counter-revolutionary agitation. At his initiative, a list of believers was compiled for the opening of a church...".

In the arrested person's questionnaire, it was noted that he served until the church was closed in 1930. In 1929, he was convicted for agitation against the grain tax, in 1930 for tax evasion, and in 1933 he was arrested and convicted under Article 58, Clause 10 of the Criminal Code for "counter-revolutionary activities" in Vizinga. The indictment dated August 29, 1937, against Kuratov S.A. and Mityushov A.E. stated: "They did not admit guilt in conducting counter-revolutionary agitation against the party and government policies...". On the same day, at a meeting of the NKVD troika, the verdict was issued: "Kuratov S.A. to be shot". On August 31, the sentence was carried out. At that time, he was 71 years old.

The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity, once famous for its large bell tower, was considered a landmark of the village since 1824. It was completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks in the early 1930s. Currently, only a small parish church has been restored.
