The church was built around 2004-2005 and consecrated in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, as the icon with this image is placed above the entrance to the church and in the cemetery.

Baldyzh is first mentioned in the early 17th century as an existing village owned by the Bezbrazov family. In the 18th century, it temporarily bore another name, Bogoroditskoye. In the 19th century, the village was owned by V. D. Azanchevsky and I. I. Korovkevich.

By the early 17th century, there was already a parish church of Flora and Lavra in the village, which burned down during the Time of Troubles. In the 1690s, a stone church was built, which was abolished in the early 20th century due to its dilapidation.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the village was part of the Podgorodny stan of Bryansk district. From 1861 to 1924, it was in the Gosamskaya volost of Bryansk (from 1921, Bezhitsky) district. In 1924 and 1929, the village belonged to the Ovstugskaya volost, and from 1929, to Bryansk district. Since the 1920s, it has been part of the Glinishchevsky village council.
