In January 2003, an Orthodox community of the parish dedicated to the Holy Epiphany was registered in the Volodarsky district. In 2005, a plot of land was allocated for the construction of the church. In the fall of 2007, services began, initially held in a temporary tent and later in a temporary church made from two decommissioned railway cars. Since 2008, services have been regular. In 2010, the church was consecrated in honor of Blessed Xenia of Petersburg, and the previous name, Epiphany, is no longer used.
In November 2012, due to plans for the construction of a shopping center and a new stone church, the existing church was moved 140 meters to the northeast. At the same time, the area for the new church's construction was fenced off.
