The church was built in 1825. Until the end of the 18th century, the main church was located to the south, 700-800 meters from the current site. At the location of the modern church, there was previously a small round cemetery chapel. Its walls, which rise one meter above the vaults, became the foundation for the dome of the new church.

In the mid-19th century, alongside the construction of a sugar factory, the altar and side parts of the church were built. By the end of 1910, a bell tower was added, and the church took on a cross shape.

In 1930-31, the parish was devastated: crosses were removed, bells were broken, and the rector, Priest Nikolai Silevanov, was arrested and exiled. Parishioners tirelessly sought the reopening of the church, and in 1931 they were given a condition: if twenty people signed over their homes and property as collateral, the church would be opened. Twenty-two people agreed to this.

In the 1930s, the church was alternately opened and closed, and sometimes grain was stored in it. In 1939, the building was converted into a school.

However, in December 1941, local residents reconstructed the church, and services resumed, continuing until 1972 when the parish was closed due to the building's emergency condition.

Parishioners continued to advocate for the church's reopening, appealing to various authorities, even in the capital. On Sundays and holidays, they gathered at the closed doors of the church for prayer, and in winter, they met in homes provided by parishioners.

In 1981, Fedora Antonovna Shilova, later nun Susanna, donated a private house, which was converted into a large prayer house. Next to it, a house for the priest was built.

In 1989, the winter holiday on December 9 and Christmas were celebrated in the restoring church. Regular services resumed in the fall of 1991, and the church had been closed for 19 years.

During the repair and restoration work, the roof was renewed, the dome and attic parts were remodeled, ceilings and vaults were created anew, a new iconostasis was established, old paintings were restored, and new ones were painted, while the facade, windows, and doors were repaired. A strong reinforced concrete fence was built around the church.

The procession to the Holy Spring, located 1.5 km west of the church, was also resumed. In the early 1930s, the chapel over the spring was destroyed, but now it has been improved.
