The construction of the chapel in honor of John the Baptist began in 2001 under the guidance of the future rector, Priest Vladimir Voloshanov.

The church was built thanks to the benefactor Ivan Ivanovich Evseev, who dedicated it to the memory of the church of the Lord's Baptism destroyed during the Soviet years in his native village. He also built an auxiliary building that housed the church shop and service rooms.

On July 7, 2004, on the feast day of the Nativity of John the Baptist, Metropolitan Juvenaly (Tarasov) conducted the solemn consecration of the church.

By the blessing of Archbishop Herman of Kursk and Rylsk, on October 1, 2008, Priest Anatoly Zayshly was appointed as the rector of the church.
