St. Michael the Archangel Church in Pogrebki

The Orthodox parish in the village of Pogrebki was founded in 2003, with the first gathering of parishioners taking place on April 17. In May of the same year, with the blessing of Metropolitan Juvenaly of Kursk and Rylsk, the construction of the church dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel began. The project was led by Anatoly Filatovich Shevchenko, and funding was provided by the collective farm OAO '1 May'. The church project was developed by V.A. Vodyanikov, a member of the Union of Architects of the Russian Federation. The first service, a thanksgiving prayer, took place on November 21, 2003.

On January 23, 2004, the church was consecrated by the priests of the Sudzha deanery, led by the dean, Archpriest Evgeny Shestopalov.

In July 2006, a water blessing chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God 'Vladimirskaya' was built and consecrated on the parish grounds, with the project developed by architect Elena Kholodova.
