St. Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky Church in Klintsy

Фото 1
The site for the construction of this church was chosen intentionally. Previously, there stood a chapel dedicated to Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky, which was destroyed in the 1930s during the period of active atheism.

With the blessing of Bishop Theophilact of Bryansk and Sevsk, the construction of the church began in 2009. The work was carried out in stages, and at the initial stage, two Orthodox individuals bearing the name of their heavenly patron Saint Alexander Nevsky, Alexander Andreyevich Bondarenko and Alexander Alexandrovich Sivakov, took on the responsibility of restoring the shrine, which they confirmed through their actions.

In the summer of 2009, on the day of the celebration of the 160th anniversary of the church in honor of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in the city of Klintsy, the new foundation of the Alexander Nevsky church was solemnly consecrated. The consecration of the foundation was conducted by Bishop Theophilact of Bryansk and Sevsk, and a year later, on September 25, 2010, the church itself was consecrated. The service was attended by priests of the Klintsy deanery, representatives of the city administration, the benefactor of the church Alexander Andreyevich Bondarenko, parishioners, and pilgrims.
