The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker is a unique example of late 19th-century architecture, executed in the style of Ukrainian Baroque. The building is made of brick and covered with plaster. The main cubic volume with a five-sided altar and a short refectory with a lowered roof is topped with a large onion dome, which is placed directly on the roof without a drum. The composition is dominated by a tall tiered bell tower with two square sections and a large octagonal belfry, topped with a large pear-shaped dome in the Ukrainian style. The facades of the church are adorned with pilasters, wide cornices with belts of cityscapes at the bottom, and framed window casings with arched lintels, decorated with keystones and triangular pediments. The bell tower features more elaborate decoration with typically Ukrainian niches, pilasters at the corners, and kokoshniks at the base of the dome.

The interior space of the church is covered by a dome and connected by narrow openings to the altar, which has a barrel vault with a faceted conch, and to the refectory, covered by a flat ceiling. The tiers of the bell tower also have such ceilings.

Only fragments of wall paintings in the dome of the church and on the ceiling of the refectory have survived from the interior decoration, where figures of saints are depicted in grisaille technique.
