The church was built in 1746 thanks to the efforts of titular advisor Mikhail Yakovlevich Yelmanov.

In 1882, a zemstvo seven-year school was opened in the parish, and in 1895, a church parish school. By 1917, 70 boys and 50 girls were studying at the school, and the library had 175 volumes.

In the 1930s, the residents of Manturovo lost their church. The dome and bell tower disappeared. For a long time, the building, whose walls were adorned with images of saints, was used as a warehouse, and later it housed a rural club. A dance hall was arranged in the place of the altar, and the vaults were regularly whitewashed and painted over to hide the emerging icons.

In the 1990s, the church building was returned to the Kursk Diocese. However, it had to be almost completely restored. The work was initiated by priest Andrey Kiselev, but the main part of the labor was carried out by his successor, priest Andrey Yeskov. Over several years, the church and the surrounding area turned into a large construction site, and the work continues to this day. Restoring the church turned out to be a challenging task, as it was mainly carried out on a voluntary basis, involving not only parishioners but also residents from all municipal entities.
