The St. Nicholas Church in the village of Kupino was built in 2001 on the site where the wooden St. George Church of the 18th century was destroyed in the 1960s.

The history of the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Church in Kupino is closely linked to the church of St. George the Victorious in the village of Repnoye. In the 18th century, a wooden St. George Church was built here, which existed until the 1960s, after which a club was constructed in its place.

The process of reviving the church began in 1994 when the club building was transferred to the Church. Services were held in the restored St. George Church until 2001.

In 2000, Archbishop John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol consecrated the site for the construction of a new church in the village of Kupino. The church in honor of St. Nicholas was built two kilometers from the previous site and was consecrated by Archbishop John on December 16, 2001. A children's Sunday school operates at the church.
