Kamynino is located on the left bank of the Psel River, between the villages of Znobilovka and Horyainovo. The village was founded in the first half of the 17th century.

The first mention of it appears in the "Description of the Lands and Villages of the Oboyan District" by voivode Ivan Mikitich Koltovsky in 1649, where it is listed as the village of Kozlova: "On the Crimean side of the Psel River, above Vspolkovo Lake, opposite the mouth of Pseletsko on the Psel River, the village of Kozlova, with 8 households, unmeasured fields." The village was named after its founder, landowner Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Tikhonovich Kamynin. Simultaneously, the village was called Spasskoye in honor of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, built at its founding.

In 1841, a new wooden Transfiguration Church was built to replace the dilapidated wooden church. It had one altar and was part of the first deanery. In 1908, there were 509 people registered in its parish.

During the Bolshevik period, the church was destroyed.
