Semki, a village in the Mglin district of the Bryansk region, is located in the Novoromanovsk rural settlement, 3 km east of the village of Novaya Romanovka. It has been known since the first half of the 17th century as the property of the nobleman Abramovich. Later, the village belonged to the Mglin town hall, Zubritsky, Prince Menshikov, Razumovsky, and others. The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin existed from 1728 until the early 20th century but has not survived. From the mid-17th century until 1781, Semki was part of the Mglin hundred of the Starodub regiment. From 1782 to 1922, the village was in the Mglin district, later in the county (from 1861 as part of the Romanov volost). From 1922, it was part of the Pochep county (initially Romanov, then from 1924 Shumarov volost), from 1927, in the Mglin volost of the Klintsy county, and from 1929, in the Mglin district.
