In the Trinity Church, the first temple of the Shamordinsky Monastery, the founder of the monastery, Elder Ambrose, prayed before the miraculous image of the Most Holy Theotokos.

Until 1889, the church was located on the site of the current Kazan Cathedral. When the foundation of the cathedral was laid, with the blessing of the venerable Ambrose, the old church was moved to the monastery cemetery and consecrated on July 5, 1890, in the name of the Holy Trinity. The church had a single-tier wooden iconostasis, decorated in white with gold. On October 15/28, 1891, Elder Ambrose was buried here. In the right part of the church, at the request of the abbess, nun Euphrasia, a chapel in honor of the Mother of God, the Life-Giving Spring, was consecrated on January 24, 1892, with a carved wooden two-tier iconostasis. For eighteen years, this church remained the only one in the monastery until the Kazan Cathedral was consecrated in 1902. After the monastery was closed, the Trinity Church was completely destroyed.

Hoping for God's help, efforts were always made to restore this historically significant church for the monastery. On July 28, 2006, a prayer service was held, and restoration work began. By the fall of 2008, the church was raised under the dome, and on October 17, crosses were installed on it. On May 25, 2018, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, the clergy of the monastery conducted a minor consecration of the church.

Nevertheless, there is still much finishing work ahead. The interior decoration of this church, as well as other churches of the monastery, is planned to be created in their own workshops.

Behind the church is the old monastery cemetery, where several generations of Shamordinsky sisters rest.
